Privacy Policy

This policy explains how ManagerTea handles personal information. Publicly anonymous reviews are not the same as untraceable reviews.

1. Information we collect

Account information: your email, account ID, verification status, account creation date and sign-in records. We also record the date you accept the adult eligibility statement, Terms of Use and Community Guidelines. Content: reviews, ratings, whether you reviewed as a team member or customer, optional work or visit context (such as the month you dealt with the manager), profile submissions and edits, reports and corrections. Claims: verified work email, supporting information and approval records. Legal complaints: name, email, affected content, complaint details, signature and decision records. Optional LinkedIn sign-in: if offered and you choose it, LinkedIn confirms your account. Our sign-in service receives the basic details LinkedIn shares, which stay private; we use only the sign-in provider and a verified-reviewer flag for display, and never show your LinkedIn name, photo or profile link. Nearby city: if you choose “Use my location”, your browser shares your approximate position only inside your browser to pick the nearest listed city; we never send, save, or attach your location to reviews or your account. Workplace lookups: the text you type to find a workplace is sent to a places provider (OpenStreetMap by default). Hosting and security providers may process technical logs such as request metadata, IP addresses and browser information.

2. What is public and what stays private

Manager profiles, workplace history, review text, ratings, tags, optional role/dates/workplace context and approved manager replies are public. Reviewer account names, emails and ownership records are not shown publicly. Work emails, claim evidence, complaint contacts, internal reports and moderation records are private and limited to authorized access. Review text or unusually specific context may still identify you. Managers do not gain access to reviewer account information by claiming a profile.

3. Why we use information

ManagerTea may use IP addresses available in hosting and security logs, together with account age, to investigate abuse and fake reviews. These signals do not prove identity or automatically establish whether a review is genuine; we automatically hold for human review new reviews from accounts under 7 days old that have only reviewed one manager and give every rating 1 star, and we hold reviews for 48 hours when the reviewer says they left in the last 14 days. We do not currently screen IP addresses automatically. We use information to authenticate accounts, prevent duplicate reviews, operate the directory, verify claims, display content, respond to complaints, enforce rules, maintain security and meet legal obligations. Where applicable, processing relies on providing the requested service, legitimate interests in safety and moderation, consent for optional features, or legal obligations. We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

4. Optional AI checks and LinkedIn sign-in

You can optionally sign in with LinkedIn. If you do, we store only that you used LinkedIn and a verified-reviewer flag; we do not display or store your LinkedIn name, photo or profile URL publicly, and reviews show only a small Verified reviewer badge. When you request a privacy and tone check, the check looks for identifying details and hostile or aggressive tone and may suggest a calmer rewrite you can accept or ignore. The written draft is sent through AI Gateway to the model provider for analysis. Account email and private ownership records are not intentionally included in that request. Drafts are not stored as posted reviews, and suggested rewrites are applied only with your explicit acceptance. Providers may retain operational records under their own terms; we do not promise zero provider retention or that AI cannot miss identifying details.

5. Sharing and legal disclosures

We use Lovable Cloud, authentication, hosting, email and AI service providers to deliver the service. We may disclose necessary information to authorized administrators, advisers or authorities when legally required or reasonably necessary for safety, fraud prevention or legal claims. Complaint details may be shared with affected parties when needed, minimizing unnecessary personal information. A valid legal process may require disclosure of account information; we cannot promise absolute anonymity.

6. Retention and deletion

Deleting a review or eligible manager profile hides it publicly using soft deletion, retaining the content, deletion time and actor privately for audit, abuse prevention and legal claims. Complaints, claim evidence, decisions and edit logs are retained while needed for those purposes, with legal holds where required. We do not publish a fixed deletion deadline that the service cannot enforce. Contact us to request erasure or account closure; we assess necessary retention and explain exceptions.

7. Your choices and California rights

You can omit optional work context, decline AI checks, delete your own reviews and contact us about corrections or privacy concerns. Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, a copy of information, or restrictions on processing. California residents may have additional rights to know categories, sources, purposes and disclosures of personal information, and to exercise applicable rights without discrimination. We do not sell or share information for targeted advertising. Send requests or authorized-agent requests to hello@managertea.com; we verify identity proportionately and respond within applicable legal timelines. You may appeal by replying with the request reference.

8. Storage, security and transfers

The service uses essential browser storage to keep you signed in and maintain session state. We do not currently use advertising cookies. Access controls and private moderation surfaces help protect information, but no service is perfectly secure. Providers may process information outside California or the United States; applicable safeguards are used where required.

9. Children, changes and contact

ManagerTea is for adults 18 and older and is not directed to children. If a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate. We update this policy with a new effective date and provide notice of material changes where appropriate. Privacy contact: ManagerTea, California, United States, hello@managertea.com.
